Turney and Deligny win the OK Super Heats

On Sunday morning, the Super Heats of the second round of the European OK Championship in Zuera took advantage of very good weather and 20°.

Super Heat A: Turney
James Egozi (Tony Kart/Vortex) immediately followed his teammate Joe Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex) while Kean Nakamura-Berta (KR/Iame) was soon back in 3rd place ahead of Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame) and Adrian Malheiro (CRG/TM). Very fast, Turney quickly distanced the chasing group led by Nakamura followed by Gomez, Malheiro and Evan Giltaire (KR/Iame). Arvid Lindblad (KR/Iame) overtook Egozi for 6th place. Egozi had to pit due to a loose rear bumper and came back out 31st. Turney extended his lead to 2” ahead of Nakamura, Lindblad attacked Malheiro and then Gomez for 3rd place. Turney won brilliantly 1,9” ahead of Nakamura, Lindblad took 3rd place ahead of Gomez and Giltaire. Alex Powell (KR/Iame) finished 7th, Malo Bolliet (KR/Iame) 18th.

Super Heat B: Deligny
Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex) narrowly maintained his lead over Ean Eyckmans, with Rintaro Sato (KR/Iame) 3rd ahead of Enzo Deligny (Parolin/TM). Eyckmans took the lead on the second lap and Deligny followed in 2nd ahead of Taponen, followed by Yuanpu Cui (KR/Iame) and Nacho Tuñon (KR/Iame). Harley Keeble (Birel ART/TM) in 6th and Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) in 7th made good progress. Halfway through the race, Deligny overtook Eyckmans and took the lead. Very fast at the end of the race, Taponen closed in on Deligny, but the Frenchman controlled his rival on the last lap and won by 0,259” against Taponen. Keeble finished 3rd (+9 pl.) ahead of Eyckmans and Bertuca (+10 pl.). Arthur Rogeon was 8th.
