SKUSA Winter Series Champion Alessandro Truchot finishes the WSK Super Master Series in Italy

Alessandro Truchot was back in Europe for the last two races of the WSK Super Master Series. The rainy weekend in La Conca was not easy to manage and the young Parolin Motorsport driver could not reach the Final. The experience was however interesting for the rest of the season in Mini and the following weekend in Sarno was much more positive, starting with a superb 6th place in Qualifying.

After his participation in the first WSK Super Master Series in Lonato, Alessandro returned to the United States to conclude the SKUSA Winter Series as champion of the Micro Swift category thanks to four consecutive wins. He then tried his hand at the ROK Cup USA in the Florida Winter Tour, but was not satisfied with his top 10 at Tropicana Field.

Eager to return to Europe, Alessandro discovered the very technical track of La Conca in the south of Italy. To make the challenge even more difficult, rain came into the picture during the Qualifying sessions of the Mini category. A special treatment of the asphalt on this track significantly reduced the grip during the entire meeting. Very light for the category, Alessandro, at eight years old, carries more ballast than his own weight, which is a handicap that is difficult to overcome on a wet track. Far from the pace in Qualifying, he regained 10 places in the heats despite two penalties for a displaced spoiler. Unfortunately, this was not enough to get him into the Final. However, thanks to the advice from Lorenzo Travisanutto, he learned which directions he should now focus his efforts in.

A week later, the last round of the WSK Super Master Series was to take place in very different conditions on the Circuito Internazionale Napoli in Sarno. Alessandro was immediately at ease and pole position only escaped him because of an incident on the last lap of his Qualifying session. Ranked 6th out of 79, he started from the front row in every heat, but starting from the outside lane is often a problem in Sarno. His best result, a top five, came in the fourth heat and he was 27th on Saturday night with a good chance of making the Final.

During his Prefinal, another incident would spell the end of his hopes of qualifying among the 36 finalists. He was fighting hard for 15th position, when he was involved in a collision that threw him out of his kart. The incident left him shocked at the time, but without any unfortunate consequences afterwards. 37th and the first non-qualifier, the Final escaped him by just one point.

In the very demanding context of the Mini category in Italy, Alessandro can count on the encouragement and the advice of Lorenzo Travisanutto. He is well aware that he could not progress as he does at only eight years old without the indispensable support of the great champion with whom he gets along very well.

Alessandro does not take time off and his programme continues in the United States with the first round of the SKUSA Pro Tour in Nola. He will then return to Europe to test on several Italian circuits before taking part in the ACI Sport Italian Championship which will start in Franciacorta in May.
