Turney wins La Conca OK Final

Kean Nakamura Berta (KR/Iame) and Joe Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex) shared the front row of the OK Final at WSK Super Master Series #3 in La Conca. The weather had turned cloudy again and the grip was not optimal on the 1250m track.

Artem Severiukhin (Tony Kart/Vortex) had moved into 2nd place before running off the track and losing several places. Turney was following Nakamura while Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) was 3rd followed by Gustaw Winsiewski (Exprit/TM) and Matteo De Palo (KR/Iame), soon replaced by Rashid Al Dhaheri (KR/Iame). Freddie Slater (LN/Vortex) and Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart/Vortex) moved up to 6th and 7th positions. Nakamura and Turney were battling it out 2.5″ ahead of Bertuca with Winsiewski hot on their heels. Slater was moving closer to 3rd place at the halfway point. Oscar Pedersen (Tony Kart/Vortex) was also attacking Bertuca and Winsiewski to move up to 4th place. Turney then accelerated with a machine that had suddenly become much more effective and came back on leader Nakamura. Turney moved up to 1st position on the 15th lap of the 20-lap race and distanced his unfortunate rival who did not give up. Turney won with the fastest time, 1,2” ahead of Nakamura. Slater reached the podium, Pedersen finished 4th with a gain of 11 places and Al Dhaheri completed the top five.
