Khavalkin unbeaten in the OK-Junior heats at Franciacorta

During the Qualifying Heats of the Winter Series in Franciacorta, Russian poleman Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin/TM) scored three convincing victories to keep the OK-Junior leadership on Saturday evening. His compatriot Kirill Kutskov (Birel ART/TM) concluded the last race as winner and moved up from 10th to 2nd position. Poland’s Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart/Vortex) moved up from 5th to 3rd place, tied on points with Ukrainian Oleksandr Bondarev (LN/Vortex), 15th under the time limit. British driver Nathan Tye (Sodi/TM), who was fast but less successful in the battles, lost three places to 5th place. The fight to stay in the top 10 was fierce and Andres Cardenas (Energy/TM) climbed from 27th to 10th position. Luna Fluxa Cross (KR/Iame) made a name for himself by moving up from 40th to 15th place, just ahead of privateer driver Thomas Quincé (Tony Kart/TM), the top Frenchman. Andy Consani (Sodi/TM) moved up 13 places to 20th, Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 23rd (+5 pl) ahead of Maxens Verbrugge (Exprit/TM), who retired in the last race. Arthur Dorison (Tony Kart/Vortex) lost ground in 34th position after starting with a penalty. A wrongly positioned spoiler delayed Jules Caranta (KR/Iame) who nevertheless regained nine places to 35th position.
