Stolcermanis the OK poleman in Franciacorta

42 OK drivers competed on MG tyres for the Winter Series Qualifying at Franciacorta. The weather was not too cloudy at 17°. They waited for the middle of the session to take the track.

Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy/TM), who has now switched to OK tyres, was the fastest on the second lap of Session 1. He improved his performance on the next lap and finished with the fastest time – 46”922 – on lap 4, 45 thousandths ahead of Maksim Orlov (Parolin/TM). Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame) and Joseph Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex) were close behind, while Rashid Al Dhaheri (KR/Iame) finished 5th, 1.5 tenths behind. Freddie Slater (LN/Vortex) was 9th. Harley Keeble (Birel ART/TM) was back after two laps.

In Session 2, Alex Powell (KR/Iame) took the lead on lap 2 and progressed on his third lap. Kean Nakamura Berta (KR/Iame) was however the fastest – 46”955 – without improving on Stolcermanis’ pole position. Powell and Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex) followed in 2nd and 3rd, Matheus Ferreira (KR/Iame) in 4th and Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart/Vortex) in 5th, a tenth behind. Arvid Lindblad (KR/Iame) returned to OK after a stint in KZ2 and was 6th.
