Pesl and Costoya win the Mini Prefinals of the WSK Super Master Series

In Lonato, the Mini Prefinals of the second round of the WSK Super Master Series took place under a cool winter sun.

Dean Hoogendoorn (Alonso Kart/Iame) didn’t get off to a great start in Prefinal A and Jindrich Pesl (Parolin/Iame) led the way ahead of an incisive Ludovico Mazzola (EKS/TM), but Hoogendoorn was soon back in 2nd place, Kilian Josseron (KR/Iame) 4th and Jack Illife (Parolin/TM) 5th. The top two were separated by less than a tenth while Mazzola did not let them go. Scott Lindblom (EKS/TM) was 4th ahead of Illife and Josseron. The last lap started with a very tight group of five drivers. Pesl won against Hoogendoorn, while Mazzola finished 3rd, Illife 4th and Josseron 5th. Roman Kamyab (Parolin/Iame) was 6th, Louis Cochet (Parolin/Iame) was 21st (+ 5pl) and François Dario Kerdal (KR/Iame) 27th (+ 9pl).

Christian Costoya (Parolin/TM) got off to a perfect start in Prefinal B ahead of Filippo Sala (KR/Iame) and Niklas Schaufler (EKS/TM), who started well. Dries van Langendonck (Parolin/TM) took 4th place at the expense of David Cosma-Cristofor (KR/Iame) followed by his brother Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor (KR/Iame). Costoya was still leading despite pressure from Sala and Schaufler. The order did not change until the finish. Van Langendonck secured 4th place ahead of the Cosma-Cristofor brothers. Walter Schulz (KR/Iame) did not start.
Provisional results pending official publication.
