OK Prefinals for Tony Kart with Coluccio and Taponen in Lonato

On Sunday morning, the sun was shining in Lonato for the OK Prefinals of the first round of the WSK Super Master Series on a dry track and in a temperature of 3°.

Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Freddie Slater (LN/Vortex) shared the front row of Prefinal A. Slater was briefly pushed into the grass and ended up 10th while Coluccio led ahead of Joel Bergstrom (Exprit/TM) and Joe Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex) who started 8th. Ean Eyckmans (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Cristian Bertuca (Birel ART/TM) completed the top five. At the halfway point, Turney was in 2nd place and Bertuca, who set the fastest time, had moved up to 4th ahead of Eyckmans. Slater was back in 7th place behind Karol Pasiewicz (Birel ART/TM). Coluccio extended his lead as the laps went by and Turney pulled away from his pursuers led by Bertuca. Coluccio won 1,2″ ahead of Turney (+9pl), then Bertuca (+6pl) followed by Eyckmans and Slater who came back in 5th with the best lap after passing Pasiewicz.

Nakamura Berta (KR/Iame) did not start Prefinal B. Matheus Ferreira (KR/Iame) led against Tuukka Topnen (Tony Kart/Vortex), then Akshay Bora (KR/Iame) and James Egozi (Tony Kart/Vortex). Gustaw Wisniewski (Exprit/TM) was back in 4th, while Bohra lost ground and Taponen took the lead on the fourth lap. Alex Powell (KR/Iame) had moved up eight places to 9th and Maksim Orlov (Parolin/TM) was soon in the top five. Taponen had to keep up a good pace against the threat of Ferreira until Wisniewski took 2nd place. Taponen won by 0.374” over Wisniewski, with Ferreira 3rd, Egozi 4th and Orlov 5th ahead of Powell. Enzo Deligny (Parolin/TM) finished 8th.
