Stolcermanis unbeatable in Junior MAX

Tomass Stolcermanis (LVA) was the favourite for the Junior MAX Final after his superb performances since the beginning of the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Bahrain. But the competition was still strong, starting with Kai Rillaerts (BEL).

The 36 Sodi Junior MAX karts started their 18 laps and the action started immediately. Jayden Thien (NLD) was immediately behind the leader Stolcermanis and ahead of Rillaerts. Mirai Nishida (JPN) was 4th, Enzo Bol (NLD) 5th and Téo Blin (FRA) 6th. Pacôme Weisenburger (FRA) had given up, and Paul Alberto (FRA) was 28th. Stolcermanis started to distance himself from his rivals. Blin attacked for 4th position. At the halfway point, Stolcermanis had a lead of 7 tenths over Thien and Rillaerts, Blin was 8 tenths further back with Bol in his wheeltracks, who soon attacked him.

The slow procedure that started on the 11th lap reset the counters to zero and cancelled the gaps. The race was restarted on the 13th lap. Thien was 3 tenths behind Stolcermanis, so Blin took advantage of this to regain 4th position against Bol on lap 15. Rillaerts made it difficult for Thien by putting pressure on him, which allowed Stolcermanis to win by 9 tenths at the end of an unbeaten race. Thien remained 2nd against Rillaerts and Blin secured 4th place (+5 pl) at 0,171”. Federico Al Rifai (ARE) completed the top five. Alberto finished 17th with a gain of 13 positions.
