Ugochukwu leads the OK World Championship heats

The Campillos track had time to dry out during the Junior heats, but was still tricky in places for the last two Qualifying Heats of the OK World Championship.

A-D: third victory for Ugochukwu
Ugo Ugochukwu (KR/Iame) and Arvid Lindblad (KR/Iame) took the lead at the start 1.5″ ahead of Rintaro Sato (Kosmic/Vortex). Gabriel Gomez (CRG/Iame) lost six places. The battle for 4th place was spectacular between Juho Valtanen (Tony Kart/Vortex), Martinius Stenshorne (Birel ART/TM), Gomez, Tuukka Taponen (Tony Kart/Vortex) and the rest of the field. Tymoteusz Kucharczyk (RK/TM) retired. Lindblad came close to the leader at the end of the race but did not attack him and Ugochukwu won against his team-mate. Valtanen took 3rd place 5” further back. Gomez was back to 4th, with Taponen 5th ahead of Artem Severiukhin (Tony Kart/Vortex).

B-C : second victory for Pedersen
Oscar Pedersen (Tony Kart/Vortex) started in the lead, but Nikola Tsolov (KR/Iame) quickly came back to 2nd place. Markus Kajak (Tony Kart/Vortex) had crashed after a spin. A little rain started to fall again. Joel Bergstrom (Exprit/TM) attacked Tsolov for 2nd place and Romain Andriolo (KR/Iame) had a run-in with his team-mate Hugo Besson (KR/Iame). Pedersen had taken the lead after a small mistake. He was heading for his second victory 1,3” ahead of Bergstrom. Tsolov secured 3rd place against his team-mate Daniel Briz Liull (KR/Iame), then Luigi Coluccio (Kosmic/Vortex) was 5th followed by Norton Andreasson (Tony Kart/Vortex). Arthur Rogeon (Praga/Iame) finished 14th with a gain of six positions.

Ugochukwu was the leader of the OK Qualifying Heats of the World Championship ahead of Pedersen. The two Brazilians Gomez and Camara were on the second row for the start of the Final ahead of Taponen and Lindblad. Tsolov was 7th. Giltaire was the only Frenchman to qualify in 35th position.
