The 44 Academy Trophy drivers faced the heat of Adria in their two timed sessions on Friday afternoon.

Oleksander Bondarev (UKR) set the first mark on his second lap and improved on the following lap with a time of 50’943 ahead of Maciej Gladysz (POL) and Oscar Wurz (MCO) with Nicolas Ambiado (CHL) in ambush. Bondarev made further progress on the fourth lap, but Wurz concluded with a sixth lap in 50’849, 7 thousandths ahead of Gladysz. Bondarev was pushed back to 3rd by 73 thousandths. Nikolas Roos (ZAF) was 4th ahead of Tom Braeken (BEL) at 2 tenths.

The top six drivers of the provisional ranking were in the second session. Salim Hanna (COL) was the first to go under 51” on the third lap. Federico Al Rifai (ARE) improved to 50’814 on the next lap. Hanna tried to fight back, but he was still 0.183s off Al Rifai’s pole position. Noah Maonteiro (PT) finished 3rd ahead of David Walther (DNK) and Dion Gowda (SGP). Augustin Bernier (FRA) was 12th between Bart Harrison (GBR) and Yevan David (LKA).
