DD2 Masters Final: Champion wins ahead of Louveau

The start of the DD2 Masters Final of the Rotax MAX Challenge International Trophy was not without its problems at the first corner. Slawomir Muranski ( POL – Kosmic) and Carl Cleirbaut (BEL – Exprit – KMD) were eliminated from the start, Vivien Cussac-Picot (FRA – Tony Kart – NPS) was pushed out of the top 10. Rudy Champion (FRA – Kosmic) was immediately under threat from Paul Louveau (FRA – Redspeed – DSS) who took the lead on the second lap while Florian Bourdon (FRA – Tony Kart – SG Drivers) was distanced in 3rd position with Mykolas Mazinas (LTU – Tony Kart – KMS Europe) in his wake. Champion regained the lead in mid-race while Denis Thum (CYP – Tony Kart) had moved up to 3rd. Champion progressively increased his advantage at the front of the race despite the efforts of Louveau. He won the race with the fastest time and a 1.3″ lead over Louveau. Thum took 3rd place by more than 5”, Mazinas was 4th and Bourdon 5th.
