DD2 Final: Machacek the strongest

Antoine Barbaroux (FRA – Birel ART) made a good start ahead of Daniel Machacek (AUT – DR – VPDR) in the DD2 Final of the Rotax MAX Challenge International Trophy. Xen De Ruwe (SVN – Tony Kart – SSC) moved up to 3rd place against Kacper Bielecki (POL – Tony Kart) while Nicolas Picot (FRA – Tony Kart – NPS) had moved up five places to 5th. Machacek took the lead on the third lap. The top four formed a compact group, but Picot and Dionisi Liveris (GRC – Tony Kart – Daems Racing) were closing in. De Ruwe lost several places, Bielecki moved up to 3rd ahead of Picot and Maxime Marion (FRA – FA Kart). Barbaroux took over the lead at the halfway point. Machacek and Bielecki were quick to respond. The battle continued and Marion came back on the trio. Barbaroux tried to prevent Machacek from escaping, Marion was unable to find an opening on Bielecki. Once the overtaking was complete for 3rd place, Picot followed in 4th position. Machacek won the race ahead of Barbaroux. Picot slipped back to 3rd place on the last lap. Marion was then disqualified for trying to fix his spoiler and Bielecki took 4th place ahead of Liveris.
