The OK Qualifying Practice of Champions of the Future benefited from the good weather at Portimao with a temperature of 24°.
By chance there were six of the main contenders of the category in the first session. Andrea Kimi Antonelli (KR/Iame) was the fastest with 56”167, a tenth ahead of Nikita Bedrin (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Rafael Camara (Exprit/TM). Taylor Barnard (KR/Iame) followed by 0,271” in front of Joe Turney (Tony Kart/Vortex) and Juho Valtanen (KR/Iame). Florian Rousseau-Ricci (KR/Iame) created a surprise in 8th position ahead of Matheus Morgatto (Birel ART/TM) and Pedro Hiltbrand (Tony Kart/Vortex).
In the second session, William Siverholm (Exprit/TM) didn’t match Antonelli’s performance but managed a lap in 56”241, not far ahead of Lorenzo Patrese (KR/Iame) and James Wharton (Parolin/TM). Luigi Coluccio (Kosmic/Vortex) in 4th and Marcus Amand (KR/Iame) in 5th followed in the same tenth in front of Jamie Day (Birel ART/TM).
The result of the third session was surprising. Michael Paparo (Praga/TM) finished on 56”291, 3 hundredths ahead of Lorenzo Travisanutto (Parolin/TM) with Alex Dunne (Energy/TM) very close in 3rd position. At more than 1,5 tenths, Markus Kajak (Tony Kart/Vortex) took 4th place ahead of Oliver Pylka (KR/Iame).
The poleman Antonelli was thus followed by Siverhom, Paparo, Bedrin and Patrese in the overall classification. Travisanutto’s best performance for a long time was noted in 6th position, confirmed by the 8th place of his team-mate Wharton. Amand was 14th, Rousseau-Ricci 22nd, Marlon Herandez (KR/Iame) 42nd, Lola Lovinfosse (Tony Kart/Vortex) 51st, Hugo Besson (KR/Iame) 60th.
