The day of Sunday, August 16th was forecasted to be hot on the circuit of Adria. The participants in the European KZ2 Championship had three heats to go before the lunch break to decide the list of finalists.

Viktor Gustavsson (Birel ART/TM) won in Heat B-E, adding a third victory to his score, along with the fastest lap. Simone Cunati (Birel ART/TM) and Leonardo Marseglia (Birel ART/TM) kept their 2nd and 3rd places ahead of Jean Luyet (CRG/TM) and Filippo Berto (Birel ART/TM). Vyacheslav Putyatin (Sodi/TM) came back to 6th position.

Danilo Albanese (KR/Iame) confirmed his speed and took his third victory in the A-D heat with an additional fastest time on the last lap. Giuseppe Palomba (Birel ART/TM) finished 2nd by 2.2”. Senna van Walstijn (Sodi/TM) regained five places in 3rd position, followed by Giacomo Pollini (Formula K/TM) and Arthur Carbonnel (Sodi/TM). Hubert Petit (Sodi/TM) took 8th place ahead of Tom Leuillet (Praga/TM).

Paavo Tonteri (Tony Kart/Vortex) attacked Viktor Gustavsson (Birel ART/TM) on the first lap of the B-C heat, but the Swede responded shortly afterwards. Jean Nomblot (Sodi/TM) got off to a good start but retired on lap 2. Gustavsson set the fastest time and won 1.3″ ahead of Tonteri. Davide De Marco (KR/Iame) finished 3rd, followed by Leonardo Marseglia and Kristijan Habulin (TB Kart/TM). Noam Abramczyk (Formula K/TM) was 17th.

Gustavsson was the new KZ2 leader after the heats, followed by Cunati, Palomba and Tonteri. Marseglia and Pollini were to occupy the third row at the start of the Final, ahead of De Marco and Carbonnel. Leuillet was 10th, Albanese 13th, Nomblot 18th and Petit 20th.
