Giltaire and MacIntyre: Sodi’s new generation of drivers is sharpening up with Jean-Philippe Guignet

Launched quietly in 2019, the OK-Junior programme from the Sodikart factory is taking on a new dimension thanks to very encouraging performances and the addition of an extra driver. Behind this exciting challenge for the French brand is Jean-Philippe Guignet of the Trèfle Racing team.

Jean-Philippe, the cloverleaf is more discreet on the Sodi karts. Is it just for good luck?
You could put it like that! My experience with Trèfle Racing is useful to me, but I am working 100% for Sodikart now. As for luck, I’m not one to count on it to succeed. In fact, I am very happy to take up a major challenge with Sodi, which until now had only been involved in KZ. OK-Junior is another world and the factory has understood that. We work very well together and things are progressing well. Another important element is that our TM Racing engines are prepared by Cédric Sport Motors and have nothing to envy our rivals. The analysis of the latest results shows that everything is coming together.

A new category to learn, but also young drivers to train, right?
Of course, that’s what I like! Evan Giltaire didn’t have an easy season in 2019, but he stayed motivated and the work paid off. The British driver William MacIntyre joins us after a good run in 60 Mini. With two drivers, the team works much more efficiently, especially as they get along well and work together. The 2020 season promises to be very interesting…
