WSK Super Master Adria – Skulanov wins the battle in Mini

It was an unprecedented front row for the Mini Final of the WSK Super Master Series at Adria with a Japanese driver on pole, Kean Nakamura (KR/Iame), next to a Russian, Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin/TM). This was enough to give some colour to a grey sky, a temperature of 9° and a dry track.

At the start, Gerasim Skulanov (IPK/TM) took the lead ahead of Nakamura while Rashid Al Dhaheri (Parolin/TM) was 3rd ahead of German Foteev (Energy/TM). Khavalkin dropped back to 6th position. Al Dhaheri took 1st place on the third lap, but Skulanov replied with Nakamura in his wake. Marcus Saeter (Energy/TM) then moved up to 3rd place. The battle intensified in the pack with seven drivers fighting including Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex). Nakamura and Foteev came together on lap 7. Al Dhaheri put pressure on the leader Skulanov while Maciej Gladysz (Parolin/TM) joined them in 3rd position for a particularly intense final battle. Gladysz took the lead but went off the track and held up Al Dhaheri as he lost ground. While Skulanov won, Khavalkin took advantage of the complex situation to move up to 2nd place ahead of Helias. Clement Outran (Energy/TM) finished 16th.
