Matveev sets the best Mini time at Adria

The 85 Mini drivers competed in three groups during the WSK Super Master Qualifying Practice at Adria, on a dry track with clear skies.

In the first session, Norway’s Marcus Saeter (Energy/TM) was fastest with 55”195, a good tenth ahead of Turkey’s Alp Aksoy (Parolin/TM) and Italy’s Valerio Proietti (KR/Iame). Frenchman Clément Outran (Energy/TM) was 7th in front of Swiss driver Kevin Josseron (KR/TM). The Dutchman René Lammers (Parolin/TM) was only 12th.

The second session was much faster. The Russian Dmitry Matveev (Energy/TM) set a time of 54”783, five hundredths ahead of the Pole Jan Przyrowski. Frenchman Jimmy Helias (Tony Kart/Vortex) was 3rd by 2 tenths followed by Thailand’s Enzo Tarnvanichkul (Parolin/TM) and Australian Peter Bouzinelos (KR/Iame). Emirati Rashid Al Dhaheri (Parolin/TM) finished 8th, while Jules Caranta (Tony Kart/Vortex) was satisfied with 23rd place and Thomas Quincé (Parolin/TM) finished in 26th position.

Poland’s Maciej Gladysz (Parolin/TM) finished at the front of the third session thanks to his lap of 54”835, only 14 thousandths faster than Russia’s Anatoly Khavalkin (Parolin/TM). Frenchman Guillaume Bouzar (Parolin/TM) was not far behind – 53 thousandths – in 3rd position, ahead of Russia’s Gerasim Skulanov (IPK/TM) and Spain’s Christian Costoya Sanabria (CRG/TM).

Matveev took pole position in the official colours of Energy Corse, followed by Gladysz and Saeter.
