Even though the heat began to decrease slightly in the early afternoon, it was still hot at Sarno for the time trials of the Academy Trophy, which proved extremely tight.
Robert De Haan (NLD) surprised everyone by achieving the fastest performance of the first session, 1’01”719, in the closing seconds. He relegated Kajus Siksnelis (LTU) by 16 thousandths and Maxime Furon-Castelain (LUX) by 25 thousandths. Mattéo Spirgel (FRA) finished 6th.
As in KZ2, the second session was faster and Christian Ho (SGP) took pole with 1’01”190 against Jacob Douglas (NZL), by only 3 hundredths. Oleksandr Partyshev (UKR) followed in 3rd position by a tenth. There was slight disappointment for Elliott Vayron (FRA) who was 9th.
