Angerville’s last OK heats: Patterson remains the leader

The last Qualifying Heats took place more serenely in the FIA Karting European Championship – OK than for the Juniors.

Gabriele Mini ‘(Parolin / TM) won the EF race ahead of Nicolas Picot (Kosmic / Iame) who moved up eight places, while Kai Askey (FA Kart / Vortex) came back to 3rd and Sami Meguetounif (Kosmic / Iame) 4th, followed by Matheus Morgatto (Tony Kart / Vortex), Gabriel Bortoleto (CRG / Iame) and Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex).

Sebastian Montoya (Tony Kart / Vortex) won in the CD heat against Maya Weug (Birel ART / TM) and Joseph Turney (Tony Kart / Vortex) who regained 19 places! Juho Valtanen (Redspeed / Iame) did not take unnecessary risks to finish 4th, followed by Kas Haverkort (CRG / TM). In contrast Thomas Imbourg (Kosmic / Iame) lost 10 positions in 18th place.

Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / Iame) met his objective by winning the AB heat against Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Iame). Morgan Porter took advantage of new tyres to take 17 places to 4th place ahead of Dilano Van T’Hoff (Exprit / TM) and Dexter Patterson (KR / Iame), cautious in this high-risk race for favourites. 5th on the line, Loris Cabirou (Kosmic / Iame) was 14th after a spoiler penalty. Franck Chappard (Redspeed / Iame) and Evann Mallet (Redspeed / Iame) lost out significantly, finishing 18th and 19th.

Patterson kept his lead in front of Valtanen, then Mini’ and Van T’Hoff, while Barnard and Hiltbrand were on the third row for the start of the Final. Thomas Imbourg (Kosmic / Iame) was ranked 21st and top Frenchman, with Chappard 27th and Picot 32nd.
