Of the 71 applications received, 18 drivers were selected by Winfield Racing School. Coming from many different countries, the 2019 Winant Winfield squad consists mainly of drivers who have progressed through top level karting. Among them, there are three girls: the Doriane Pin from France, the Swiss Tara Eichenberger and the Briton Emily Linscott.
Two former winners of the FIA ??Karting Academy Trophy are present: Briton Callum Bradshaw (2016) and Spaniard Mari Boya (2018), as well as his runner-up Kobe Pauwels from Belgium.
Britain’s Clayton Ravenscroft finished 2nd in the 2018 IAME International Final in X30 Senior and is one to watch, while an American has crossed the Atlantic to compete in the Winfield Volant. This is Nicky Hays, who races in X30 at home.
Hugo Le Henaff has the most atypical profile, as he has no experience in cars or karting, except for a little leisure karting. He comes from esport where he excels on a Formula 1 simulator!
