Antonelli and Ten Brinke win the Winter Cup OK-Junior Super Heats

In the good weather at Lonato, the OK-Junior finished their Qualifying Phase with two Super Heats marked by the use or otherwise of new tyres, which caused some surprises. Andrea Kimi Antonelli (KR / Iame) won unchallenged in the lead against Theo Wernersson (Kosmic / TM) and Tymoteusz Kucharczyk (Parolin / TM). James Wharton (FA Kart / Vortex) was ahead of Nikita Bedrin (Tony Kart / Vortex) in the top five. Marcus Amand (KR / Iame) was 11th after a good race. Enzo Trulli (CRG / Iame) had given up halfway through.

In the second Super Heat, Thomas Ten Brinke (FA Kart / Vortex) quickly dislodged Alex Dunne (Exprit / TM) from 1st place. Jamie Day (BadoerExprit / Vortex) then took 2nd place followed by Alfio Spina (KR / Iame) and Andrey Zhivnov (Kosmic / Vortex). Elliot Vayron (Birel ART / TM) lost six places on the first lap, but was able to recover effectively. The gaps remained small in the top 10. Ten Brinke won the race despite the return of Day, Spina finished 3rd, Zhinov 4th and 5th place went to Arvid Lindblad (Exprit / TM). Lucas Leistra (Praga / Vortex) regained 11 places finishing 7th, Dunne finished in 8th place.Vayron was ranked 19th after a pass with Brando Badoer (Parolin / TM) was penalised, and Arthur Rogeon (Sodi / TM) gained 10 places to 23rd.
