Winter Cup: Turney takes the lead after the OK heats

The penalties applied on Saturday at the end of the day have significantly changed the hierarchy of Qualifying Heats in OK at the Winter Cup, compared to the results on the track. Twice victorious, Joseph Turney (Tony Kart / Vortex) is in the lead ahead of Dexter Patterson (KR / Iame) and Leandro Anderutti (KR / Iame). Taylor Barnard (KR / Iame) is in 4th place ahead of Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart / Vortex). Three times a winner on the track, Gabriele Mini’ (Parolin / TM) was penalised 10′ ‘in the penultimate heat and is 6th in the standings, with Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Iame) is down to 8th behind Luigi Coluccio (Birel ART / TM) for the same reason.

Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex) returned from 29th to 14th position, while Sami Meguetounif (Tony Kart / Vortex) regained 20 places from Qualifying by placing 18th. Despite some setbacks, Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / Parilla) made up part of his deficit in 22nd place.

The starting grid for the Final will be determined definitively after the Super Heats on Sunday morning.
