Brazilian atmosphere for Victor Bernier before the glamour

When Victor Bernier won his ticket for the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals by winning the NSK on 1st July at Salbris, he still did not know he would become the 2018 World Champion in OK-Junior. His end-of-season schedule has become difficult.

The CIK-FIA awards ceremony is the same weekend as the Rotax Final,” said Victor. “We had to make a difficult choice, but I think it’s important for my career that I’m in Geneva.

Victor will continue to the FIA Gala in St Petersburg with the cream of the world motor sport, then the big evening of the FFSA awards a few days later in Paris.

However, Victor did not hesitate to travel to Brazil with his parents and his brother Augustin, as the latter had qualified after his performance in Cadet at the Rotax Challenge France Final at Laval.

From the edge of the track, it’s always difficult to see my rivals race, but I made a point: Last year, I finished 12th in Rotax Junior at Portimao while having a lot of problems. I would have liked to improve this result this year in Rotax Senior,” continued Victor, who took part in a few rental kart sessions to let off steam and discover the beautiful Brazilian circuit of Paladino.

On Thursday, Victor will fly back to France with his father, while his mother will support Augustin. “I hope my brother will have a great race, and at the moment he looks comfortable and good in his head,” added Victor.

Victor Bernier will have at least made Bastien Borget happy, 2nd in the NSK and therefore qualified for Brazil in place of the World Champion.
