In cloudy, but dry weather, and very mild temperatures despite the strong wind, the Qualifying Practice of the Junior World Championship at Kristianstad began. Guilherme A. De Figueiredo (KR / Parilla) clocked the fastest time – 52”785 – of the first timed session in the very last moments against Marcus Amand (KR / Parilla), Enzo Trulli (CRG / TM) and Nikita Bedrin (Tony Kart / Vortex), all four grouped within 73 thousandths. Laurens Van Hoepen (Tony Kart / Vortex) finished 5th ahead of Isack Hadjar (Exprit / TM).

 

In the second session, Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart / Vortex) took provisional pole with a time of 52”772, followed by Luca Griggs (Exprit / Vortex). European Champion Paul Aron (FA Kart / Vortex) came 3rd a tenth behind, followed by Josep Maria Marti Sobrepera (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Joel Granfors (Tony Kart / TM), while Caesar Kristiansson (Tony Kart / Vortex) finished in a nice 6th place. Esteban Masson (Birel ART / TM) achieved an excellent 7th time, Conrad Laursen (FA Kart / Vortex) finished 10th, Suleiman Zanfari (Tony Kart / Vortex) 12th, and Craig Tanic (Birel ART / TM) 14th ahead of Macéo Capietto (KR / Parilla).

 

Enzo Scionti (CRG / TM) and Victor Bernier (Kosmic / Parilla) first contested 1st place in the third session. But it was Taylor Barnard (KR / Parilla) who posted the new provisional pole with 52”724 while Bernier was getting closer to 2nd place in the group, but also of the general classification, by 23 thousandths. Scionti was 3rd by 0.123, followed by Lorenzo Fluxa (Exprit / Vortex) and Thomas Ten Brinke (FA Kart / Vortex). Zak O’Sullivan (FA Kart / Vortex) ranked 10th, and Kirill Smal (Tony Kart / Vortex) 12th.

 

Kai Askey (FA Kart / Vortex) was distinguished in the fourth and last session, but Gabriel Mini’ (Parolin / TM) won the big prize by taking pole position with a remarkable time of 52”443 which relegated Askey by 0.282”. Dilano Van T’Hoff took 3rd place against Tymoteusz Kucharczyk, a recent defector from 60 Mini, then Gabriel Bortoleto (CRG / TM). Sami Meguetounif (Exprit / Vortex) finished 7th and Loris Cabirou (Energy / TM) 20th.

 

The increasingly fast sessions allowed Mini’ to take pole position in OK-Junior ahead of Barnard and Askey, Bernier was 4th ahead of Beganovic, Griggs 6th, De Figueiredo 7th and Van T’Hoff 8th.
