Léger wins the International Handikart Trophy at Essay

Maxime Léger won the Prefinal of the International Handikart Trophy in front of Adrien Turkawka and Marc Borgetto. Alain Nicolle and Mickaël Vaché crashed and retired. Slightly damaged, Vaché wasn’t able to pursue the leaders.

 

Maxime Léger, the overwhelming favourite, took the lead in the Final ahead of Laurent Flamant and Stéphane Massard while an incident immediately removed Marc Borgetto and delayed Adrien Turkawka.

 

Alain Nicolle took the opportunity to jump from last to 7th place on the first lap. Léger quickly flew ahead of his rivals, Nicolle continued to attack to go back to the lead, he was 4th in the first third of the race. Léger was heading for a landslide victory, 12” ahead of Massard. The uncertainty lasted until the end for 3rd place. Nicolle returned to 3 tenths off Flamingo at the end of the race, but he managed to maintain his place. Gilbert Meneur finished 5th, Nicolas Chevesson 6th and Turkawka 7th. Vianney Chan Tsin was the first H4 ahead of Fabrice Dubois.
