Patterson crushes the competition in OK

It was very hot at the Aunay les Bois / Essay circuit on Friday afternoon for the Qualifying Practice of the 4th round of the FIA ??Karting European Championship for OK. During Free Practice, Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex) – 44”797 – and Dexter Patterson (KR / Parilla) shared the fastest times, followed by Kas Haverkort (CRG / TM) and the leader in the standings, Hannes Janker (KR / Parilla).

Dexter Patterson (KR / Parilla) finished strongly in the first session and set an excellent reference time in 45”198, nearly 4 tenths faster than Hugo Sasse (KR / Parilla), followed by Rasmus Joutsimies (Tony Kart / Vortex ), Andrea Rosso (CRG / TM) and Mattia Michelotto (KR / Parilla). Roman Stanek (Kosmic / Vortex) was credited with the 12th time by 7 tenths and Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / TM) finished in 14th.

 

Ayrton Fontecha (CRG / TM) showed up first in the second group, but Kas Haverkort (CRG / TM) finished with 45”408, the 2nd overall time of the moment, followed by 44 thousandths by Lorenzo Travisanutto (KR / Parilla). Jonny Edgar (Exprit / TM) was in 3rd position by a tenth, then Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Zane Maloney (FA Kart / Vortex). Franck Chappard (Redseed / Parilla) was 15th fastest by 5 tenths, ahead of Elie Goldstein (Kosmic / Parilla), Jérémy Potain (KR / Parilla) 18th and Tom Joyner (Sodi / TM) 20th at 0.777”.

 

In the third and final session, Callum Bradshaw (CRG / TM) and Hannes Janker (KR / Parilla) were the first to drop under 45”8. Janker improved, but Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex) appeared at the last moment and finished on 45”369, the 2nd fastest time in the category, 0.179” ahead of Bradshaw and 0.247” ahead of Janker. Aleksei Nesov (Tony Kart / Vortex) came in 4th and Christopher Lulham (Exprit / TM) 5th in front of Evan Spenle (Kosmic / Parilla).

 

Patterson was the poleman, 0.171” ahead of Thompson, with Haverkort 3rd, Travisanutto 4th and Edgar 5th. Janker, the leader of the championship, was in 14th position, his closest rival Hiltbrand finished 35th and Valtanen was 30th.
