Last PFI Junior heats

The last three Qualifying Heats of the Junior European took place in the sun with rising temperatures on Sunday morning at PFI.

Sami Meguetounif (Formula K / TM) managed to win heat E-F, despite the threat from Alexandros Kattoulas (Exprit / TM) who took the mid-race lead. Isack Hadjar (Exprit / TM) then took 2nd place for a French double while Rafael Camara (Kosmic / Vortex) finished 4th and Loris Cabirou (Energy / TM) finished in the top five. Luca Griggs (Exprit / Vortex) finished 18th and Josep Maria Marti ‘Sobrepera (Tony Kart / Vortex) 22nd, severely worsening their scores.

Kai Askey (FA Kart / Vortex) attacked Victor Bernier (Kosmic / Parilla) midway through heat CD and won in front of the Frenchman while Dilano Van T’Hoff (Exprit / TM) was 3rd ahead of Alex Dunne (Exprit / TM). Paul Aron (FA Kart / Vortex) gained six places to get into the top five, while Jamie Day (Energy / TM) and Thomas Ten Brinke (FA Kart / Vortex) lost ground.

Kirill Smal (Tony Kart / Vortex) won the final heat, A-B, quite clearly. The battle was fierce for 2nd place. Alex Lloyd (Formula K / TM) gradually lost ground, Evann Mallet (Kosmic / Parilla) moved to 2nd place, but Gabriel Bortoleto (CRG / TM), who set the best time, was 2nd on the penultimate lap. While Dino Beganovic (Tony Kart / Vortex) took 4th place, Gabriele Mini (Parolin / Parilla) came back to 5th after losing places at the start. Marcus Amand (KR / Parilla) was not at his best in 12th position. Georgi Dimitrov (Exprit / Vortex) went straight off off at the bridge before his exploits were stopped by the black flag.
