A slight hesitation from Fabian Federer (CRG / TM) prevented Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) from getting a good shot at the start of the Final of the European KZ Championship at Salbris. Jorrit Pex (CRG / TM) was fastest away from pole, but Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / TM) took the lead on the second lap. Jérémy Iglesias (Formula K / TM) was then in 3rd position by overtaking Federer, Paolo De Conto (CRG / TM) was in 4th place. Bas Lammers (Birel ART / TM) had given up early in the race.

Federer was demoted to 10th, Iglesias passed for 2nd ahead of Jorrit Pex and returned to Hiltbrand. Ardigo was 7th behind Patrik Hajek (Kosmic / Vortex) on the 8th out of 21 laps. Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) had taken six places for 8th ahead of his team-mate Alex Irlando (Sodi / TM), both within reach of Hajek. De Conto returned to 3rd position before going down to 6th while Ardigo reached 4th position. A dramatic twist on the 17th lap was the retirement of Hiltbrand from the lead, apparently with a mechanical problem.

Iglesias recovered 1st place, 1.3” ahead of Jorrit Pex and Ardigo. De Conto was in 4th position with Abbasse in his wake. Ardigo tried to attack Jorrit Pex on the last lap as Iglesias won a superb European victory. De Conto finished 4th, Abbasse 5th (+9), Irlando 6th and Hajek 7th. The gentleman driver Damien Vallar (Birel ART / TM) was delighted with his experience in KZ in 17th position.
