Junior Max: Van Der Helm controls Prefinal B

In addition to front row containing Tijmen Van Der Helm (NLD) and Jac Preston (AUS), Prefinal B for Junior Max (Praga) saw Hugo Vair (FRA) and Sami Megeutounif (FRA) start from the 3rd row on Friday afternoon at Portimao. Van Der Helm immediately escaped from Jak Crawford (USA), Sandor Nagy (HUN) and Preston with Axel Saarniala (FIN) in 5th position. Vair quickly returned to 3rd place and Meguetounif was 5th, then 4th. The top two, Van Der Helm and Crawford had then taken off. Worried about wiring problems, Vair dropped back, while Meguetounif was fighting for 3rd position behind Saarniala. Things did not stop there in the very agitated chasing pack. Van Der Helm was clearly ahead of Crawford, Preston was 3rd in front of Meguetounif and Ivan Bataller Camare (ESP). Vair eventually finished 21st despite his problems.
