Meguetounif leads the Academy

On Sunday morning the drivers of the Academy raced their two remaining heats on the circuit of Le Mans under heavy skies. Sami Meguetounif took the lead with Xavier Handsaeme, who will be followed on the second row of the Final grid by Tijmen van der Helm and Ruben Moya Lopez, then on the third row by Francisco Melo Porto and Dylan Léger, recovered from 20th to 6th position thanks to his beautiful 4th place in the final heat. Other fast drivers dropped back during incidents on the track or as a result of spoiler penalties. So poleman Alexander Simmonds was only 7th, Joseph Taylor 8th, Jamie Day 9th and Ayrton Fontecha Martinez 10th. Further back, Gabriel Nord and Suleiman Zanfari are expected to improve their score in the Final. Mike van Vugt, the leader of the Trophy, finished in only 24th place.
