Academy – Le Mans: Handsaeme takes the advantage in the heats on Saturday

The participants in the Academy Trophy escaped the rain during the four qualifying heats of the day. There are two to be raced on Sunday morning before knowing the list of qualifiers for the Final. Under a generally dark sky, Xavier Handsaeme took the lead thanks to his two victories, against Tijmen van der Helm and Sami Meguetounif, after a victory and a 2nd place each. The gap then widened to Francisco Melo Porto in 4th, while Joseph Taylor and Dylan Leger, now well on the pace, follow on equal points. Mike van Vugt, the Trophy provisional leader is far from having improved his 13th position in Qualifying.
