KZ2 Free Practice at Genk: Longhi and Birel ART are highlighted

Four official free practice sessions ran on Friday 12th May for the 61 participants of the first event of the European Championship at Genk. Still wet in the early morning, the track quickly dried under increasing sun. The best time was achieved in the fourth and final session of the three groups. Riccardo Longhi (Birel ART / TM) was the fastest with 52”041, followed closely by Matteo Vigano (Tony Kart / Vortex), Tom Leuillet (Sodi / TM) and Jean Luyet (Tony Kart / Vortex). Pierre Loubère (Zanardi / Parilla) also performed well at 7 hundredths back, while Alessio Piccini (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Alessandro Irlando (Sodi / TM) were also in the top 10. Just after that came Martijn Van Leeuwen in 11th, Brandon Nilsson (Parolin / TM) 12th, Thomas Landais (Tony Kart / Vortex) 13th and Adrien Renaudin (Sodi / TM) 14th, followed by his teammate Rokas Baciuska (Sodi / TM). Hubert Petit (Sodi / TM) was also on the pace.

 

Qualifying starts on Saturday 13th at 10:40.
