F4 France: three races and three winners at Monza!

The drivers of the French F4 Championship met on the legendary Italian track of Monza for the second meeting of the season and the least that can be said is that this meeting was of the highest level. It also confirmed the leading position of Victor Martins with one race win and also the rise of Arthur Rougier who was notably present on the podiums of Races 2 and 3. The next meeting will be run on the famous track of Pau, from 19th to 21st May 2017.

At the start of the first race, poleman Victor Martins retained the benefit of his position. The first laps were intense and changes of position ensued. Florian Venturi, in the battle with Victor Martins for 1st place and then with Christian Muñoz for the 2nd position, managed to climb on to the second step of the podium. The Colombian driver completed the podium, his first in F4 this year. Behind, the battle was tough to get into the top 10 and score points.

For Race 2, the top 10 start in reverse grid formation, and Javier Gonzalez started from the front row followed by Marvin Klein and Jean-Baptiste Mela. Very quickly, Marvin Klein managed to overtake the Mexican driver but unfortunately finished 5th at the finish line. Pierre-Alexandre Jean, who started 5th, succeeded in an exciting battle and won ahead of Arthur Rougier and Florian Venturi, who took his second podium of the weekend.

The last race was rich in twists and turns. Charles Milesi, who started 2nd on the grid, managed to take the lead from his direct competitor Victor Martins who had started from pole position. Victor tried everything to get back to his opponent in vain. The young driver, victim of an off-track excursion, allowed Arthur Rougier, having a very good weekend, to climb on to the second step of the podium. Behind him, Stuart White, the South African driver, took his first podium of the season with 3rd place.

This event on the legendary track of Monza was spectacular with the coronation of three different winners during the three races of the weekend. However, Victor Martins retained the advantage in the overall standings with 91 points. Then the general ranking remains very tight. Arthur Rougier, thanks to his good performances this weekend, moves back to 2nd place and 24 points behind the leader. Pierre-Alexandre Jean, with 65 points, remains in the top three thanks to his victory in Race 2. Stuart White manages to join the top 10, with his first points scored at Monza, with Thomas Drouet and Amaury Cordeel also scoring their first points.
