Of the 25 KZ drivers present at Sarno for the start of the European Championship, it was Simo Puhakka (Kosmic / Vortex) who was fastest of the official free practice day with a time of 55”847. Marijn Kremers (Birel ART / TM), Bas Lammers (Sodi / TM), Patrik Hajek (Kosmic / Vortex) and Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) completed the top five with just over two tenths of a split. Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) did not participate in any of the sessions, apparently due to rib pain.
