Haverkort and Thompson win the OK-Junior Prefinals

Jonny Edgar (Exprit / TM) was quickly overtaken by Kas Haverkort (CRG / Parilla), while Giuseppe Fusco (Evokart / LKE) finished 3rd ahead of Gabriel Bortoleto (CRG / Parilla) and Mattia Michelotto (Zanardi / Parilla). Hadrien David (Zanardi / Parilla) fought in the top 10, with Gillian Henrion (CRG / Parilla) recovering from difficult opening laps. Haverkort and Edgar were distancing their opponents, Michelotto having taken 3rd place in front of Zak O’Sullivan (FA Kart / Vortex) and David. Loris Cabirou (Sodi / TM) returned courageously to 20th, then lost several lengths. Haverkort won the race despite the constant pressure of Edgar, Michelotto, O’Sullivan and David (best lap and 9 places) ended up grouped in the top five. When he was 12th, Henrion was pushed at the hairpin on the last lap and had to give up.

The unfortunate Evann Mallet (CRG / Parilla) spun on the second practice lap of Prefinal B and did not start. Leonardo Marseglia (Zanardi / Parilla) attacked Harry Thompson (FA Kart / Vortex) to take the lead on lap 2, with Paul Aron (Tony Kart / Vortex) 3rd and Jack Doohan 4th ahead of Andrea Rosso (Tony Kart / Vortex). Pavel Bulantsev (Tony Kart / Vortex) was running a long way back after a complicated first lap. Thompson then recovered control by passing Marseglia, Rosso reached the 4th position at halfway, while Doohan was demoted to 7th, then 10th. Dexter Patterson (Birel ART / TM) was very delayed at the beginning of the race and was trying to get back into the top 17. Thompson controlled Marseglia and won, with Aron 3th, Rosso 4th and Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart / Vortex) 5th. Ilya Morozov (Tony Kart / Vortex) moved up to 7th, Bulantsev 9th, and Doohan finished 12th in front of Patterson.
