With varied grip, the qualifying heats were not easy to manage for the 70 Junior drivers entered in the second event of the WSK Super Master Series at Castelletto. The clashes, especially on the first laps, and other excursions from the track, have not abated, nor have the penalties for moved spoilers. Two heats remain on Sunday morning for groups A, B, C and D.

Jack Doohan (FA Kart / Vortex) confirmed his time-trial performance by taking control of the class ahead of Victor Majgaard (Kosmic / Vortex) and Gillian Henrion (CRG / Parilla), while poleman Kas Haverkort (CRG / Parilla) is laying 16th because of a difficult first heat. Dexter Patterson (Birel ART / TM) is in a good position with 7th overall. Christopher Lulham (Tony Kart / Parilla) fell even harder, to 30th place, following two consecutive retirements. Hadrien David (Zanardi / Parilla) is 17th, Jules Mettetal (Kosmic / Parilla) 23rd, but he has finished his heats and cannot move up. Loris Cabirou (Sodi / TM) regained ground in spite of a shock from a spectacular brake failure during the warm-up. Fortunately neither the body or the mind of the young French driver were affected. The meeting has been a nightmare for Evann Mallet (CRG / Parilla) who has not reached the finish once in four races.

The interim unofficial intermediate ranking is available here.
