Sometimes the CIK-FIA is taken to task on topics that do not always fall within its area of responsibility. This has most recently arisen regarding the two days of unofficial practice sessions that have been introduced this year at the request of the CIK Promoter and the members of the CIK Sporting Working Group, on Wednesday and Thursday before each of CIK-FIA Competition, validated by the CIK Commission. The practice is run by the organizer and WSK Promotion, both for timetables and track access. The current operation gives no responsibility to the CIK-FIA on these points. The CIK-FIA is solely responsible for administrative schedule of the Competition and, as of Friday morning, the activity on the track. If conditions are not suitable for some of the competitors, they must deal directly with the organizer concerned or the promoter, WSK Promotion.

On the other hand, rumors have circulated about the “Prime” tyre provided by the manufacturer Vega for the Competition at Zuera. The technical team of the CIK-FIA was able to verify, as it does every time, that all the Vega racing tyres of the “Prime” type used for the Official Competition at Zuera, came from the same delivery that is are intended for KZ or OK. No particular allows the CIK-FIA to question the conformity of the tyres with the homologation that allowed Vega to win the tenders. The CIK-FIA has trusted the manufacturer Vega to ensure that from one Competition to another, the supply of identical tyres respecting the terms of the homologation requirements, within regulatory tolerances. If this would not be the case, it is clear that the CIK-FIA would be very upset.
