Free practice day not too rainy at Essay

Friday was not as wet as the forecast had led to us to fear at the International Circuit of Aunay les Bois / Essay. Free practice for the European KZ / KZ Championship and the Academy Trophy were mostly slowed by a slippery track in middle and late afternoon. Although it is impossible to guess who will be fastest on Saturday during Qualifying it is possible to see who was the fastest driver on Friday.

In Academy, the leaders often varied depending on the conditions, but Piotr Wisnicki (POL) finally set the fastest time of the day with 49”957 in front of Callum Bradshaw (GBR), Thomas Imbourg (FRA), Titus Shanghai Schmidli (CHE ) and Jagger Jones (USA).

 

In KZ Flavio Camponeschi (CRG / Parilla) was credited with the fastest time – 47”789 – ahead of Lorenzo Camplese (Parolin / TM), Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM), Douglas Lundberg (Mach 1 / TM) and Rick Dreezen (Ricciardo / Parilla). The differences were very small between the protagonists.

 

In KZ2 the best performance of the day was from Alessandro Irlando (Energy / TM) – 47”859 – followed by Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / Vortex), Leonardo Lorandi (Tony Kart / Vortex), Fabian Federer (CRG / Modena) and Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex). This time, the differences were bigger among the competitors.

 

The qualifying will begin Saturday morning at 10:20.
