La Conca, OK Prefinal: Sargeant leaves his opponents behind

Logan Sargeant (FA Kart / Vortex) didn’t take long to build a gap against his opponents from the start of the OK Prefinal at the WSK Super Master at La Conca. Clement Novalak (Tony Kart / Vortex) took over 2nd place from Martijn Van Leeuwen (Birel ART / Parilla) on lap 4, and Lorenzo Travisanutto (Tony Kart / Vortex) despatched Pedro Hiltbtand (CRG / Parilla) to seize 4th position ahead of Tom Joyner (Zanardi / Parilla). Karol Basz (Kosmic / Vortex) and Felice Tiene (CRG / Parilla) lost ground in the scuffle.

At halfway Sargeant had almost 3” ahead of Novalak who was always under threat from Van Leeuwen, while Joyner had joined the group. Van Leeuwen repassed Novalak, which Joyner then copied, while Alexander Smolyar (Tony Kart / Vortex) reached 6th place ahead of Tiene. Sargeant raised his foot on the last two laps to win with the fastest time and a 3.7 second lead ahead of Van Leeuwen, with Joyner 3rd, Novalak 4th and Travisanutto 5th. Very fast end of the race, Basz finished 6th. Davide Lombardo gained eight places to finish 9th, and Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer improved to 12th after losing places at the start.
