Quick review of the first heats of the Winter Cup

Mini Rok held the spotlight on Friday afternoon with their six qualifying heats out of the 11 races of the day. In OK, Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) took the lead ahead of Logan Sargeant (FA Kart / Vortex), with Lorenzo Travisanutto (Tony Kart / Vortex) ensuring 3rd position ahead of the poleman Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer (Tony Kart / Vortex) who was still very fast as he held the fastest time until the last lap when Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM) dethroned him and took 5th position. The Frenchman Arnaud Hugo (Tony Kart / TM) took 23rd position despite a penalty of 10s.

Timothy Peisselon (FA Kart / Vortex), pictured above, won the first heat of OK-Junior, C against D, starting from 9th place ahead of his RFM teammate Fin Kenneally (FA Kart / Vortex). Frederik Vesti (Exprit / Vortex) finished 3rd, Noah Watt (Tony Kart / Vortex) 4th and Charles Milesi (Tony Kart / Vortex) 5th. Milan Petelet (Praga / Parilla) regained some ground in 9th position as did Theo Nouet (Energy / TM) in 11th place. Less lucky, Gillian Henrion (Tony Kart / Vortex) retired early in the race. The heat A against B was won by Perdana Minang (Tony Kart / Vortex) ahead of Marzio Moretti (Exprit / LKE) and Ivan Shvetsov (Tony Kart / Vortex). Jostled initallly, Theo Pourchaire (Kosmic / Vortex) rebounded in 12th position, Adam Eteki (Tony Kart / Vortex) gained six places to 16th place ahead of Franck Chappard (Kosmic / Vortex) and Thomas Mialane (Energy / TM).

It was a Tony Kart / Vortex triple in the first KZ2 heat, A against C, with Marco Ardigo, Marcus Armstrong and Leonardo Lorandi. There was a comeback for Menno Paauwe (Birel ART / TM) in 8th position (8 places). Nicolas Gonzales (Sodi / TM) finished in the top 10, Pierre Bourgeois (Tony Kart / TM) 17th, Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / Vortex) 20th after a 10” spoiler penalty, which cost him a dozen places, Tom Leuillet (Sodi / TM) was 21st after his spoiler strangely moved after the line, while Jordan Ramon (Birel ART / TM) didn’t complete a lap. In the second heat, B against D, we saw a strong double from the Sodi factory with Bas Lammers (Sodi / TM) the winner and Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) 2nd in its wake, 2” ahead of Alexander Schmitz (Tony Kart / Vortex ), Davide Fore (Righetti / TM) and Flavio Camponeschi (CRG / Parilla). Hubert Petit (Sodi / TM) finished 12th behind Paolo De Conto (CRG / Maxter) and ahead of Gabin Leuillet (Sodi / TM). There was an interesting 18th place for Paul Fontaine (Sodi / TM) who recovered six positions, and 24th position for Victorian Sabotava (Mach 1 / TM) and 25th for Sebastian Lepert (Sodi / TM).
