Surprise pole position for Lappalainen in KF-Junior

As in free practice, Noah Watt (FA Kart / Vortex) was the fastest of the first qualifying session for KF-Junior in the World Championship at La Conca, running in the rubber left by KF. The Dane set a time of 46”584, compared with his 45”961 in free practice, while Charles Milesi (Tony Kart / Vortex) was behind by 0.192” on the last lap. 3rd went to Artem Petrov (DR / TM) ahead of Alexander Smolyar (Tony Kart / TM) and Marzio Moretti (Tony Kart / LKE).

Logan Sargeant (FA Kart / Vortex) finally won his duel against Caio Collet (Kosmic / Vortex) in the second session. The American set a fastest lap of 46”481 to take the provisional pole, while the young Brazilian resisted the sudden threat from Aaron Cameron (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Nikita Aleksandrov (DR / TM). Nicola Abrusci (Tony Kart / Vortex) took 5th place.

Ulysses De Pauw (BirelART / Parilla) lapped fastest – 46”595 – in the third session, closely followed st 12 thousandths by Lorenzo Colombo, the two drivers taking the 3rd and 4th places in the provisional rankings. Bent Viscaal, Davide Lombardo and Emil Dose completed the top five.

The only Junior session running on rubber left by LeCont, the fourth and final session has reserved several surprises, with pole position taken by Konsta Lappalainen (Tony Kart / Vortex), at the end of the session. Sebastian Fernandez Wahbeh (FA Kart / Vortex) found himself 2nd, Sami Worship (FA Kart / Vortex) 3rd and Felipe Drugovich (Kosmic / Vortex) 4th, thus pushing Clément Novalak (Tony Kart / Vortex) to 5th position ahead of Kenny Roosens (Kosmic / Parilla).

Lappalainen created a surprise by taking pole, after he was only 30th in free practice and 5/10 slower than Watt. Sargeant was ousted by 35 thousandths when Wahbeh Fernandez took 3rd place, Worship 4th, Drugovich 5th ahead of Watt, Novalak 7th, De Pauw 8th, Colombo 9th and Collet 10th. Roosens was 12th, Milesi 18th, Lundgaard 28th, Franck Chappard (Kosmic / Parilla) 42nd, Timothy Peisselon (BirelART / Parilla) 54th, and Milane Petelet (Kosmic / Parilla) 55th.
