The epilogue of the CIK-FIA European Superkart Championship will take place on 1st and 2nd August on the Assen circuit, a temple to motorbikes but also to Superkarts. Indeed, each season Superkart is included in the programme of the “Gamma Racing Day”, a legendary and popular event, which attracts a large crowd who are always delighted with the show organised by Red Bull with Max Verstappen and Toro Rosso present in 2015.

The field is of the same intensity at Le Mans, with 35 Drivers, and the Dutch home contingent replacing the French who were at Le Mans. The last Race will be as decisive as last year for the award of the title. Indeed only the best five results out of a possible six are counted, and the two favourites, the Czech Adam Kout (MS Kart-DEA) and Germany’s Peter Elkmann (MS Kart-VM) have scored significant points in each previous Competition.

The two leaders are completely equal – two wins and two second places each – and the last race will exacerbate any sporting rivalry. Hoping to join this pair, in the absence of the defending champion, will be Gavin Bennett (Anderson-DEA). Although a race victory may be tough, he is nevertheless still fighting for a podium as evidenced by his racing at Donington. He remains a benchmark in the discipline and only mechanical problems have thwarted his progress so far. The Dane Henrik Lilja (PVP-PVP) is every season the top outsider in the final standings, regularly 3rd or 4th. The official representative of PVP, currently third overall, should again be at the forefront.

One to watch is Andreas Jost (Anderson-VM) who, after an inconsistent start to the season has renewed performance and hopes to find the level he reached in 2014. The Redspeed team is running the local driver Marcel Maasmann (Andersson-VM), Vice Champion in 2012. He is a formidable finisher who always feels comfortable on this track at Assen. He is now also equipped with a VM engine, while his team-mate Finn Vesa Lehtinen (Anderson-DEA) hopes to continue his promising start to the season after a nightmare weekend at Donington. After many years as the best represented the British delegation is for the first time equal with the Dutch (9 Drivers). Among them will be the surprise of 2015, the independent Driver Jason Dredge (Anderson-PVP). The latter was involved in the fight for the places of honour at every race. For his part, after a double podium at Le Mans, Liam Morley (Anderson-DEA) would like to confirm the end of a black series of results. Note the return to competition for the female Driver, the young Priscilla Speelman, a former Dutch Superkart champion, who returns to her former team (MS Kart-VM).
