With up to $50,000 in cash and prizes to be handed out at the conclusion of the event weekend, the Cold Stone US Open of Grand Junction presented by MG Tires and Chase/Brash Racing, the inaugural season continues in Colorado entry numbers surpassing the opening round pre-entry mark.

We have solid entry numbers from across North America and a great variety of international flair,” explained MAXSpeed Entertainment’s Garett Potter. “We also have another spectacular Saturday night planned for our teams and competitors. With a social gathering and BBQ trackside, Karting Community United will be back in action with the KCU Summer Games. I want to thank all the teams that have stepped up to support the US Open, as many have larger numbers for this round. We could not do it without you!

Several new names will make the trek to Grand Junction, Colorado as Rolison Performance Group comes with a large and talented tent of sixteen competitors. International drivers such as five-time world champion Davidè Fore and Jordan Lennox Lamb will return to the US Open driver lineup as well as Sofia and Suleiman Zanfari, who are making their second trip this season to the United States from Morocco. We will see some industry veterans run the US Open for the first time including Utah’s Eddie Olpin; always fast at Grand Junction, he will be one to watch. Stacey Cook and his CRG USA crew have another large setup next week as they enter more than twenty drivers in a variety of different classes including two championship point leaders in Sabré Cook and Jet Davis.

Potter continued, “As announced previously in the year, round two will be weighted heavier than round one in the championship points battle. Also, moving forward, the US Open finale in Las Vegas will be weighted more than round two. This is an exciting new twist to keep more people in the championship chase as we move deeper into the season. Keep in mind, from qualifying to the end of the main event, there are valuable championship points up for grabs.”

The US Open of Grand Junction will not only award large cash payouts up to $50K, as Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals (RMCGF) tickets are also up from grabs to the championship leader following the close of wheel-to-wheel action on Sunday. Tickets will be awarded to Rotax Junior, Rotax Senior, Rotax DD2 and Rotax Masters for the 2015 RMCGF. Additional tickets will be awarded to the 2016 Grand Finals to US Open of Las Vegas champions over Halloween weekend at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Stacey Cook of Grand Junction Motor Speedway added, “We are expecting a phenomenal event. Anyone that has ever been here before knows that this facility is very racy and provides great competition. We have done multiple upgrades in preparation for the US Open program and invite anyone and everyone to come and check out the event.

During Saturday evening’s MAXSpeed Entertainment social gathering, Karting Community United (KCU) will hold the first annual KCU Summer Games. Beginning at 6:00pm, teams, competitors, families and friends will have the opportunity to take part in Viceroy ‘Closest to the Pin,’ the MG ‘Tire Roll’ and the Lighting Group Utah ‘Corn-Hole Challenge,’ with all proceeds going to the Karting Community United fund.

MAXSpeed Entertainment and the US Open series would like to offer their continued gratitude for the support of all the series sponsors and partners: Cold Stone, MG Tires, Chase/Brash Racing, Koene USA, AM Engines, J3 Competition, CRG USA, Rolison Performance Group, Orsolon Racing, Dallas Karting Complex, PSL Karting, Falcone GP, Tru Tech Racing, Champion Racing, Crosslink Coatings, University of Miami Global Academy, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Bell Helmets and Mazda Road to Indy, as well as Major Mortgage.
