Sanctions fell after the prefinal, 30” penalties for loosened spoilers to Martynyuk, Federer, Myers Nilsson, exclusion from the race for Negro for non-conformity and exclusion from the meeting for Fasberg, who tried to replace his fallen spoiler.

It was a successful start for Francesco Celenta (Parolin / TM), Joel Johansson (Energy / TM) and Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / Maxter), with Thomas Mich (BirelART / TM) 4th ahead of Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / Vortex) who hesitated slightly. A collision at the first corner eliminated Tilloca, Sousa and Federer. Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex) took 6th position, while Mich and Besancenez fought from the second lap onwards and set off in pursuit of Hiltbrand. It was a great early race for Maik Siebecke (CRG / Modena), 17th with 14 places gained by the fourth lap.

Besancenez attacked Hiltbrand on lap 5 and took 2nd, and Johansson was 4th. Celenta escaped. Corberi was in 5th place ahead of Alberto Cavalieri (Righetti / Modena) and overtook Johansson to take 4th position. Hiltbrand was always on Besancenez ‘heels and took 2nd place in mid-race. Johansson was back in front of Corberi. Sean Babington (Energy / TM) had made it into the top 10 and grabbed 8th place by overtaking Mich. It was tight for 5th position between Corberi, Cavalieri and Jorge Pescador (Praga / Parilla).

Cavalieri retired later on. Celenta was 1.7” ahead of Hiltbrand with five laps to go, Besancenez was less than 0.5” from the Spaniard, but the latter then increased the gap and Johansson was threatening the French driver. Celenta won the final easily, with Hiltbrand 2nd and Johansson 3rd. Besancenez just missed the podium, Corberi was 5th, and Pescador 6th. Mich finished 8th ahead of Siebecke, recovering 22 places with the fastest time. Thomas Laurent (Tony Kart / Vortex) finished 14th.

Celenta was deprived of his victory immediately after the podium when he was penalised 5” for jumping the start. Hiltbrand was declared the winner ahead of Johansson and Besancenez.
