Ivan Shetsov, Gilles Magnus, Lucas Légeret, Alex Quinn, Marta Garcia and Logan Sargeant qualified for the final through the repechage, with Watts losing out because of an ill-planned attack and Tom Leuillet finishing 6th, but penalised for overtaking under yellow flag.
It’s still nice and warm at the Kartodromo do Algarve for the KF-Junior Prefinal at the first round of the 2015 European Championship and Kenny Roosens (Kosmic / Parilla) shared the front row with Christian Lundgaard ahead of Teddy Wilson (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Sami Worship (FA Kart / Vortex), the pole-sitter.
The top four retained their rank at the start while Clement Novalak (Tony Kart / Vortex) moved up one place to 5th position ahead of Kush Maini (Tony Kart / Vortex), but Worship dropped to 6th on the second lap. It was an excellent start to the race for Sebastian Fernandez Wahbeh (Exprit / Vortex) who was 9th with 11 places gained. Roosens immediately pulled out a gap from Lundgaard and Wilson. In 15th place, Davide Vidales (Energy / TM) made up 11 positions. Novalak gave up 5th place to Perdana Minang (Tony Kart / Vortex) who then attacked Maini. Charles Milesi (Tony Kart / Vortex) dropped to 31st, and Milane Petelet (Kosmic / Parilla) battled for 17th place.
Roosens continued his solitary drive in the lead of the race ahead of Lundgaard but Minang changed the situation behind him taking 3rd ahead of Wilson. Roosens set the fastest time in the last two laps, while Minang grabbed 2nd position. Lundgaard finished 3rd, Wilson 4th, Maini 5th, Novalak 6th, and Fernandez 7th. Behind Vidales, Ulysses De Pauw (BirelART / Parilla) was 14th and not able to improve his starting position, Rasmus Lindh (Ricciardo / Parilla) was 16th with a gain of nine seats, Petelet 17th, and Shvetsov 19th coming from the repechage.
