Ardigo overcomes Abbasse in the final

The rain had almost stopped, but the track was still wet when the starting lights went out for the KZ2 final. Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) jumped first followed by Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) who had to fight off Jordon Lennox-Lamb (BirelART / Parilla) to keep 2nd place. Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex) then attacked the British driver to take over 3rd position. Davide Fore (CRG / Maxter) advanced to the 5th from Bas Lammers (Formula K / Parilla), Marijn Kremers (BirelART / Parilla) 7th, Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) 8th, Rick Dreezen (Ricciardo / Parilla) 9th, Douglas Lundberg (Kosmic / Vortex) 10th and Paolo De Conto (CRG / Maxter) 11th.

Ardigo quickly returned to the wheeltracks of Abbasse who was holding the pace, both drivers dropping Corberi by 5′. Penalized in the Prefinal and unlucky on the first lap, Arnaud Kozlinski (Sodi / TM) mov e up to 20th place. At the halfway point, Ardigo attacked Abbasse and took the lead. De Conto was no longer running. Camponeschi and Lammers passed Fore on lap 12, while Kozlinski was back to 16th. Camponeschi passed Lennox-Lamb on lap 15 for 4th position. The end of the race was marked by Camponeschi’s return on Corberi and he overtook on the penultimate lap. Ardigo won by 4” ahead of Abbasse and Camponeschi who was on the third step of the podium with the fastest lap and nine places gained. Corberi finished 4th, Lennox-Lamb 5th, Fore 6th, Kremers 7th, Dreezen 8th, Lammers 9th and Lundberg 10th ahead of his teammate Andreas Backman (Kosmic / Vortex).
