KZ2 qualifying at Castelletto: Pescador on pole ahead of Kozlinski

The weather was beautiful on Friday afternoon at Castelletto for timed qualifying at the second round of the WSK Super Master Series. The track had time to regain grip and traction was excellent. KZ2 went out first at 16.20 for their first session.

Andrea Dale (CRG / Maxter) led to start with. Paolo De Conto (CRG / Maxter) then took the lead with a lap of 46”313, with Davide Fore (CRG / Maxter) following by 0.025” then Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) finished third by 0.083”, 5 thousandths ahead of Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM). Douglas Lundberg (Kosmic / Vortex) set the ninth fastest time with his new team as did Rick Dreezen (Ricciardo / Parilla) with 10th on his debut with BirelART. Patrik Hajek (Praga / Parilla) could not do better than 11th.

The second session, scheduled 45′ later, was faster than the first. Arnaud Kozlinski (Sodi / TM) rapidly advanced ahead of Jorge Pescador (Praga / Parilla), who took the advantage and then set the fastest time of the class, 46”243, or 37 thousandths better than the French driver. Fabian Federer (CRG / Maxter) finished third in front of Jorrit Pex (Intrepid / TM) and Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex).  Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) was 8th behind Lorenzo Camplese (Formula K / Parilla) and Bas Lammers (Formula K / Parilla) was in 16th position

The pole therefore goes to Pescador ahead of Kozlinski, De Conto 3rd, Fore 4th, Federer 5th, Camponeschi 6th and Abbasse 7th. 40 drivers were on the track, and Jonathan Thonon was absent this weekend.
