Karol Basz (Kosmic / Vortex) took the lead on the first lap of the KF final while Nicklas Nielsen (Tony Kart / Vortex) on the front outside line fell back to 5th. Casper Roes (FA Kart / Vortex) took the lead on lap 2 but Basz responded on the next lap. Alexander Vartanyan (Tony Kart / Vortex) took 2nd place and Nielsen 3rd. Max Fewtrell (FA Kart / Vortex) was in 5th place behind Roes. Martijn Van Leeuwen (CRG / TM) experienced a difficult start to the race in 7th position.
Basz had already gained six tenths in the lead on lap 7 when Nielsen took 2nd place at the expense of Vartanyan. Jakub Kadlcak (Tony Kart / TM) made a big gain of nearly 20 places by halfway. Basz upped the pace with over a second ahead of Nielsen. Roes and Fewtrell relegated Vartanyan to 5th and Van Leeuwen and Leonardo Lorandi also passed the young Russian.
Van Leeuwen’s machine regained its effectiveness and the Dutchman took 3rd with five laps to go. Nielsen couldn’t keep up the pace, Basz was nearly 3” in front and Van Leeuwen closed up. Basz won the race by a large margin with the best time going to Nielsen who preserved 2nd place against Van Leeuwen. Lorandi took 4th ahead of Roes and Ben Hanley (Croc Promotion / TM) who finished 6th. The podium was exactly the same as last week, at the WSK Gold Cup.
