KZ2 win for Camponeschi at Lonato

The weather was cool and gray, but Lonato was dry for the start of the KZ2 final raced on slicks. Paolo De Conto (CRG / Maxter) and Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) shared the front row. Camponeschi was the quickest to jump, Anthony Abbasse (Sodi / TM) went third and Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) took 4th position ahead of Bas Lammers (Formula K / Parilla) and Simo Puhakka (CRG / Maxter ). Lammers attacked Ardigo for 4th place on the third lap, but the top five were tightly bunched. Further back, Marco Zanchetta (Alpha / TM) took 6th place ahead of Puhakka, Menno Paauwe (BirelART / TM) and Nicolas Gonzales (Alpha / TM) who was recovering after an average start. Lammers grabbed 3rd position from Abbasse on lap 7. Abbasse and Ardigo made contact and both drivers dropped to the back of the pack.

Camponeschi escaped while Lammers put pressure on De Conto and the Italian ended up off the track. With all these changes, Zanchetta was 3rd followed more closely by Paauwe, Puhakka and Ben Hanley (Croc Promotion / TM). Thomas Laurent (Tony Kart / Vortex) spared no effort to move back to 15th position, after starting from 26th. Kozlinski overtook him with three laps to go. Camponeschi won masterfully with close to 3s ahead of Lammers. Zanchetta was defending his 3rd place against Paauwe, then Puhakka finished 5th, Lorenzo Camplese (Formula K / Parilla) 6th, Dreezen 7th, Gonzales 8th, Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex) 9th and Hanley 10th.

Update: Lammers was excluded afterwards because of a technical problem with his chassis, so Zanchetta inherits 2nd place and Paauwe 3rd.
