Ross Martin was among the very best of the KF-Juniors during the third round of the European Championship at Kristianstad (SWE), while Julia Pankiewicz achieved a position as high as 7th place in the final. The previous week, Remigio Garofano ranked 2nd in KF3 at Siena (ITA) and seized the lead of the Italian Championship. Using TM or LKE engines, the Tony Karts of Forza Racing are definitely on a roll!
The Italians Remigio Garofano and Aldo Festante have been busy at Siena for the third round of the CSAI Karting Championship in Italy. Festante completed the event consistently in the top 10 of the increasingly competitive event. 4th fastest in qualifying, Garofano lost out in the first heat, but completed a splendid rise of 11 places to 5th position in race 1, then he secured the second step of the podium in race 2. He is now in the lead of the Championship.
In Sweden, the competition was very tough between the 76 KF-Juniors at Kristianstad. Ross Martin (Tony Kart / TM) opened the scoring with a beautiful 2nd place in qualifying, only 8/100 from pole position. He then took a win, a 2nd and two 3rd places in the heats before 2nd place in the prefinal. An incident in the final unfortunately demoted him to 24th place before recovering to 15th on the line, which did not reflect his full potential.
Julia Pankiewicz (Tony Kart / LKE) wowed observers in all of her races. Starting a long way back because of a difficult qualifying session – 55th fastest time – Julia put together extraordinary heats avoiding the many pitfalls of the event. She gained between 8 and 14 positions in each of her five qualifying heats. 15th in the intermediate classification, she scored 7th place in prefinal-1. Again on the attack in the final, she still improved by seven positions in the final and finished her race in the top 10 for the first time at this level, with an incredible 7th place. In the classification of the European Championship, Julia has gone from 50th to 20th position in one fell swoop.
